MICA integrating digital mode with classroom learning since 2018

Mysore/Mysuru: Mysore Institute of Commerce and Arts (MICA), Mysuru, way back in 2018, foresaw that digital education would surely step in for a situation which was anticipated to arise. Integrating offline and online modes would benefit all stakeholders.

The college floated its YouTube channel in 2018. Video lectures, syllabus overviews, TIPs to perform effectively in exams were uploaded on a regular basis and the channel got encouraging responses not just by the MICA Mysuru students but also from students across the country.

This encouraged the College to develop an App, MI-Book in 2019. MI-Book capsules Science concepts from the syllabus, in less than 100 words for easy comprehension and retention by PU Science students. It is based on the micro learning principle.

The YouTube channel was extensively utilised during the lockdown. In all, 20 videos covering all PU Science and Commerce subjects were uploaded on a weekly basis. The channel has 2,200-plus followers across India, Bhutan, UAE and Kenya engaging in academic learning process.

With the partial relaxation on the lockdown by the Government, MICA College, Mysuru, is conducting regular online sessions to its students. The College has invested time and effort on recording room, technology and training teachers to ensure high quality deliver of online sessions.

The College is continuously engaged in adopting better processes and technology to refine its online content delivery, said a press release from MICA Principal.

MICA UG College too conducted sessions via technology to complete the syllabus of even semesters and has now geared up for its YouTube and online sessions for the next academic year, according to a press release from the College.
