Milk adulteration scam: Co-operation Minister visits ManMUL dairy

Mandya: With the milk adulteration scam coming to light at ManMUL(Mandya Milk Union Limited), Co-operation Minister S.T. Somashekar visited ManMUL Dairy at Gejjalagere near Maddur on Mysuru-Bengaluru Highway on Thursday.

Later speaking to press persons, Somashekar said that six officials of ManMUL have been suspended after charges against them were found prima facie true.

Pointing out that the Secretary of the Co-operation Department has submitted a preliminary report to the Chief Minister regarding the scam, he said that apart from the suspension of 6 officials, the Manager has been transferred and a new MD has been appointed.

Maintaining that all others involved, whether directly or indirectly, will be identified in a few days, the Minister said as per his information, 5-6  milk tankers operated with a single token number and this has resulted in huge losses. 

Asserting that the farmers must not be cheated with such kind of acts, he said that it is important to note here that  Mysuru’s MyMUL is one of the outstanding  dairies in the country outside Gujarat.

KMF MD B.C. Satish, DCC Bank President Umesh, ManMUL President Ramachandra, Vice-President Raghunandan, BJP leader Siddaramaiah and others were present.
