Maddur: The Maddur Police have arrested the Secretary of K. Honnalagere Milk Producers Union on charges of adulteration of milk by mixing some fat content boosting chemicals, that was being supplied to Mandya Milk Union Limited (ManMUL).
The arrested has been identified as Ankaraju.
Ankaraju has been arrested on charges of adulterating 4 milk cans out of the 35 that was supplied from K. Honnalagere Milk Producers Union in Maddur taluk to ManMUL at Gejjalagere on Jan. 8.
Soon as milk adulteration was found, Ankaraju, who served as Secretary of K. Honnalagere Milk Producers Union, wrote a letter to ManMUL authorities admitting his wrongdoing and sought pardon. But ManMUL Managing Director Dr. P.R. Rajesh lodged a complaint with the Maddur Police. Soon as a case was booked against him, Ankaraju went absconding. But the Maddur Police succeeded in tracing him, following which he was arrested.
Meanwhile, it is learnt that Ankaraju was in the past booked under Food Safety Act and was also served a notice for adulteration of milk. But Ankaraju is said to have continued with his misdeeds, which forced the ManMUL authorities to lodge a Police complaint against him.
