Milking contest: Cow yielding 41.8 kg milk bags honours S. Rishit of Maruti Dairy Farm of Bengaluru stands top among many competitors

Mysuru: Mysuru Gopalakara Sangha and Department of Animal Husbandry had organised a State-level milking contest yesterday at JK Grounds here in memory of late Thoogudeepa Srinivas and late Ambareesh.

S. Rishit of Maruti Dairy Farm of Padarayanapura in Bengaluru bagged the first prize of Rs. 1 lakh in cash and 2 kg silver lamps with his cow yielding 41.8 kg of milk.

The next four winners were Chandan Muniraju of Nelamangala (40.9 kg milk, Rs. 75,000 + 1.5 kg Silver lamps) Jagannath of Bengaluru (40.7 kg milk, Rs. 50,000 + 1 kg silver lamps), another cow of Chandan Muniraju (39.25 kg milk, Rs. 30,000 + 1 kg silver lamps) and H.M. Naveen Kumar of Hindiganala (39.15 kg milk, Rs. 20,000 + 1 kg Silver lamps). The prizes were distributed by Actor Darshan.

Former Minister C.H. Vijayshankar, MLA L. Nagendra, ZP member Rakesh Papanna, Sangha President D. Nagabhushan and others were present.
