Mysore/Mysuru: Minister for Co-operation S.T. Somashekar, who is also the District in-Charge Minister, on Sunday said that there has been an increase in COVID cases in Tibetan Colony at Bylakuppe and asked the Mysuru District Administration to impose a lockdown.

Speaking to press persons after visiting Health Centres of the Hunsur Constituency and the COVID Care Centre, he said it was necessary to clamp lockdown at Bylakuppe Tibetan Colony and see that everything should be supplied to them and no one should be allowed to come out and go to the Colony from other places.

He also set a goal for Panchayat Development Officers (PDOs) to conduct household surveys in both Periyapatna and Hunsur taluk with the help of Anganvadi and ASHA workers and submit a report to the District Administration.

As a precautionary measure, all those involved in survey works should be provided with a kit including a face shield.

He also announced that a District-level Committee headed by MP Pratap Singh has been formed to deal with a possible third wave that is expected to come after the second wave of Corona and take precautionary measures. The Committee has been asked to submit its report within a week, he added.
