The new lighting system installed on the stretch of Jodi Thenginamara Road (developed by MUDA from Star of Mysore office road junction to the Railway bridge near Karakushalanagar) was inaugurated by Tanveer Sait, Minister for Primary and Secondary Educational, last evening.

The said road was developed right from Highway Circle jointly by MCC and MUDA. Totally 72 lights have been installed on the stretch of road with 46 poles at a cost of Rs. 18 lakh and the darkness of the road at night for want of street lights had drawn bitter criticism from public. However, the stretch of the said road from SOM office junction to Highway Circle developed by MCC, is still awaiting street lights.

MUDA Chairman D. Dhruvakumar, Commissioner Dr. M. Mahesh, Member Anwar Pasha, Superintending Engineer Shivakumar, AE Lokesh and others were present.
