Minister Rizwan Arshad to visit Mysuru tomorrow

Mysuru: Minister for Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Rizwan Arshad will be visiting Mysuru for the first time tomorrow (Sept. 1) after being sworn-in as the Cabinet Minister.

He will be felicitated by both Mysuru City and District Congress Committee at Indira Gandhi Congress Bhavan on JLB Road near City Railway Station.

According to former Mayor Aarif Hussain, Rizwan Arshad will arrive in city at 10 am from Bengaluru by road and will call on former Minister and Narasimharaja Constituency MLA Tanveer Sait at his new Office in Udayagiri.

Later, both Tanveer Sait and Rizwan Arshad will arrive at Tipu Circle opposite Bada Makan on Mysuru-Bengaluru Highway at 11 am, where Congress workers and well-wishers will accord Rizwan Arshad a grand welcome.  

Following this, Rizwan Arshad will be taken in a procession from the Circle till the Congress Bhavan on JLB Road where a felicitation programme will be held. The procession will pass through Geelani Petrol Bunk, St. Philomena’s Church Circle, Ashoka Road, Meena Bazaar, Sawday Road, Dr. Zakir Hussain Circle (Mission Hospital Circle), Old RMC Circle before culminating at Congress Bhavan.

Rizwan Arshad, who became MLA for the first time in Dec. 2019 bypolls from Shivajinagar Assembly Constituency in Bengaluru city, had earlier contested the Lok Sabha elections on a Congress ticket from  Bengaluru Central in 2014 and 2019. He had also served as a MLC from 2016 to 2020.
