Minor boy assaulted for non-payment of pending yatra money

Mysore/Mysuru: Saraswathipuram Police have registered a case against three persons from Srirampura on charges of assaulting a 17-year-old boy for non-payment of pending Sabarimala Yatra money and have initiated further action.

According to the complaint lodged by the minor boy’s mother, her son on Nov. 17 went to Sabarimala Yatra along with known persons and returned on Nov. 21 following which he was being harassed to pay the pending Yatra money.

Though the boy told them that he would pay as soon as his mother returns, the three persons abused him using foul language and threatened him that he has to pay Rs. 1,000 more for every hour if he does not pay now, the complaint added.

When the minor boy told them that they can keep his mobile phone till he gives the money, he was told to come to Bogadi Ring Road, the complaint stated and added that when the minor boy went to the said location, the three persons, who came out of the bar, suddenly attacked the boy and when he tried to flee from the spot, the three persons chased and assaulted him.

The boy then fled into a house as the gates were open and the three persons followed him there too.

When the woman who was present in the house, tried to prevent them from assaulting the boy, the three persons did not listen to her following which the woman tried to record the incident on her mobile phone.

But the three persons snatched her mobile phone and destroyed it, the boy’s mother has stated in her complaint.

Based on the complaint, Saraswathipuram Police have registered a case.
