V.V. Puram Police register case under POCSO Act

Mysore/Mysuru: A nine-year-old girl being allegedly sexually assaulted has come to light lately at V.V. Mohalla in city and based on the complaint from the girl’s mother, the Police, who have registered a case under Protection Of Children from Sexual Offenses (POCSO) Act are investigating.

The minor girl fell seriously ill and about five days back the girl’s parents admitted her to a private hospital in city. The doctors who examined the girl found out that the minor girl was sexually assaulted, sent a memo to V.V. Puram Police Station.

It is learnt that the girl’s mother came to know about her daughter being sexually assaulted only after the doctors told her and it is not known, who committed the crime. The girl is not in a stage to give her statement to the Police. The minor girl has now been shifted to Cheluvamba Hospital.

V.V. Puram Inspector Jayakumar told Star of Mysore that as the girl or her parents have not provided information about who had committed the crime, they (Police) were waiting for the lab report.
