Miscreants barge into house, decamp with cash, gold after threatening couple

Mysore/Mysuru: Miscreants, who barged into a house, accused the couple of running flesh trade, threatened them of lodging a Police complaint and made away with cash and gold ornaments from the house.

The incident took place at the house of one Manjula at Vijayanagar 1st Stage on Apr. 6 night.

Four miscreants, who barged into the house at about 11.30 pm, told the couple that they were sent by the Police. They then accused the couple of running flesh trade and searched the house.

When Manjula and her husband Manjunath told them that there were no illegal activities taking place in the house, the miscreants demanded money from them and also threatened them of lodging a Police complaint besides informing their house owner and get the house vacated.

The miscreants then took away Rs. 8,000 cash and gold ornaments weighing 39 grams from the couple and fled from the house. A case has been registered at Vijayanagar Police Station.

House burgled

Miscreants, who broke into a house at Mandi Mohalla, have decamped with gold jewellery.

The theft took place at the house of 72-year-old D.K. Kamalamma on Sir Khazi Road on Apr. 8 night. Kamalamma had gone to her relative’s house on Apr. 8 and when she returned the next morning, she found the door lock broken and on inspecting the house she found 25 grams gold ornaments and Rs. 2,000 cash stolen and lodged a complaint at Mandi Police Station.
