Mysuru – An incident of miscreants breaking into a house and ransacking household items has come to light lately.
The incident has taken place in the house of NIE retired Professor Dr. Srinivas in Kuvempunagar here and the incident came to light on Saturday (Apr. 8) morning when the housemaid came to the house for cleaning and found the front door opened.
It is reported that Dr. Srinivas, on August 27, 2016, had locked the house and left for America to his son’s place along with his family.
Before leaving, Dr. Srinivas had given the keys of his house to his friend Ashok to take care of the house in his absence following which Ashok used to regularly come to Dr. Srinivas’ house during nights to sleep.
But on Friday (Apr. 7) night, Ashok had not come to the house to sleep. The next day (Apr. 8), the maid as usual came to the house for cleaning at about 7 am and found the front door open and immediately informed Venugopal, brother of Dr. Srinivas.
Venugopal, who has lodged a complaint at Kuvempunagar Police Station, said that the stolen items would be known only after Dr. Srinivas returns to city.
Kuvempunagar Police, who have registered a case in this regard, are investigating.
