Mysore/Mysuru: In separate incidents, miscreants have burgled houses and a school in Mysuru and Nanjangud.
In the first case, burglars, who gained entry into the house of a teacher by breaking open the door lock, have decamped with gold jewellery and cash from the house.
The burglary took place at the house of 40-year-old G. Vijayalakshmi, No. 940, 11th Main Road at Vasanthanagar in city. She is working as a teacher at a private school here.
On June 23 morning, Vijayalakshmi locked her house and had gone out of station. When she returned the next day, she found the door lock broken and on inspecting the house, she found 20 grams gold necklace and Rs. 40,000 cash stolen and lodged a complaint on June 25.
Alanahalli Police, who registered a case, are investigating.
On the same day, burglars have decamped with 29 grams gold ornaments and Rs. 10,000 cash from the house of H.B. Dakshinamurthy, a lecturer at Mallikarjun College at Udayagiri and residing at No. 883, on the 11th Main Road in Vasanthanagar.
It is suspected that both the burglaries may have been committed by the same gang.
Nanjangud: Miscreants, who broke into Gurumalleshwara High School at Haginavalu village in the taluk have decamped with Rs. 20,000 cash, groceries and DVR from the school.
After the classes, the School teachers locked the School on Saturday and left for their places. When they came to the School on Monday morning, they found the lock broken and cash, groceries and DVR stolen. Fingerprint experts and dog squad inspected the School. Nanjangud Rural Police have registered a case.
