Mysore/Mysuru: Miscreants, who came in a car without a registration number plate, have snatched a gold mangalya chain of a woman who was tending a flock of sheep near Kote Hundi village in the taluk  on Saturday.

The woman, who lost her gold mangalya chain is Prema of Kote Hundi. She was tending to her flock of sheep and goats on the outskirts of the village at about 3 pm on Saturday, when a white coloured car without a registration number plate which came from H.D. Kote Road side stopped near her and the car occupants asked Prema to which place this road leads to. Prema, who had doubts on the car occupants questioned them why did they come this way when they do not know where this road leads to.

Later, the car along with the occupants left and stopped at a distance where one of the occupants got down from the car, while the other two occupants stayed inside while the car reversed and stopped near Prema. Another person got down from the car and the man allegedly attempted to snatch her gold mangalya chain. As Prema held on tightly to her gold chain, the chain broke and the miscreants sped away with a part of the gold chain.

Prema, in her complaint to Jayapura Police, has mentioned that miscreants have snatched her 20 grams gold mangalya chain worth Rs. 80,000.

Jayapura Police, who have registered a case, are investigating.
