Mysuru: In a daring daylight robbery, miscreants, who broke the glass of a Innova car, have made away with cash and gold jewellery kept in it at N.R. Mohalla here yesterday afternoon.
Shakira and her brother Shahanaz, residents of N.R. Mohalla, are the ones whose cash and jewellery were stolen by the miscreants.
On Monday morning, Shakira and Shahanaz had taken out the jewellery from the locker at Vijaya Bank on Nelson Mandela Road in Bannimantap here as they had to attend the marriage of a relative. Shahanaz had also withdrawn Rs. 1.5 lakh as he was renovating the house.
They had kept the cash and jewellery in their Innova car and proceeded to the house which was being renovated in North-East of N.R. Mohalla. When they reached the house, they parked the vehicle and went inside the house to see the works.
When they returned, they found the glass of the car broken and Rs. 1.5 lakh cash and 316 grams gold jewellery missing, following which they immediately lodged a complaint at N.R. Police Station. N.R. Police, who have registered a case in this regard, are investigating.
