Miscreants steal Rs. 2 lakh cash from car

Mysore/Mysuru: Miscreants have made away with Rs. 2 lakh cash kept in a car after breaking the car’s glass window.

The theft took place in front of Janani Janma Bhoomi Choultry in Aravindanagar here and the person, who lost the cash is 60-year-old Shankaregowda, a farmer and a resident of G.M. Halli village in H.D.  Kote taluk.

Shankaregowda’s brother’s daughter, a resident of Bengaluru, had bought a site near Bandipalya and Shankaregowda had brought Rs. 2 lakh cash to give to his niece for registration. He had kept the cash in a bag, placed the bag under the left side seat of his Swift car (KA-51-MA-9975) and had come to city on Dec. 6.

He parked the car in front of the Choultry and had gone inside to attend the wedding ceremony of a relative at about 1.30 pm. When he came back at about 4 pm, he found the glass of the back door broken and on inspecting the car, he found the bag with Rs. 2 lakh cash in it missing.

A case has been registered at Kuvempunagar Police Station.
