Family was at Shivamogga for son’s engagement
Mysore/Mysuru: Miscreants, who gained entry into a house by forcibly opening the front door have decamped with gold jewellery worth more than Rs. 8 lakh from the house.
The burglary took place at the house of one Ravi on 6th Main Road in Gokulam in city.
Ravi, who works for an insurance company at Nanjangud, was away in Shivamogga, along with his family members for his son’s engagement ceremony organised on Saturday. On Sunday, housemaid Nagamma, after completing the household chores at Ravi’s house, switched off the front lights, locked the gate and left for her home at 9 pm.
On Monday at about 8.30 am, Ravi’s friend T.K. Prashanth, who was passing by Ravi’s house, saw the front door forcibly opened and immediately called Ravi and informed him. Then, Prashanth entered the house, he saw the entire house ransacked and lodged a Police complaint. Ravi, who rushed to city has given the details of jewellery robbed from his house, Police said.
