Mission-2024: BJP Raitha Morcha to hold mega convention in city tomorrow

Mysuru: As part of its Mission-2024 aimed at making Mysuru a chemical-free agriculture district, the BJP Raitha Morcha has organised a mammoth farmers convention at Maharaja’s College grounds in the city tomorrow.

Speaking to press persons after inspecting the arrangements at the venue yesterday, District BJP President Kote M. Shivanna said that State BJP President B.S. Yeddyurappa will inaugurate the convention at 11am.

Senior BJP leaders V. Sreenivasa Prasad, C.H. Vijayashankar, MPs B. Sriramulu, Pratap Simha and Shobha Karandlaje, leaders R. Ashok, V. Somanna, Aravind Limbavali and others will take part, he said and added that over 20,000 farmers from across the district are expected to attend the meet.

Referring to the possibility of Raitha Morcha President C.H. Vijayashankar taking part in the convention, Shivanna said that Vijayashankar is a senior leader of the party and he may be a little bit disappointed over the confusion in Periyapatna party ticket distribution. However, the State party leaders will clear the confusion in a couple of days.

Replying to a question on him contesting the Assembly polls, Shivanna said the party high command will decide on the issue.
