Mix of art forms enthral music lovers at Palace

Kavya-Kuncha-Gayana, Pancha Veena recital, dance feature keep audience hooked throughout the evening

Mysore/Mysuru: Various art forms that form the fulcrum of glorious tradition enriched Dasara festival, at the cultural programmes organised by Dasara Cultural Sub-Committee at Mysore Palace premises last evening. ‘Kavya-Kuncha-Gayana’ by Mudigunda Krishnamurthy and troupe brought alive the great personalities like erstwhile Maharaja of Mysore Nalwadi Krishnaraja Wadiyar, Architect of the Indian Constitution Dr. B.R. Ambedkar in the form of portrait paintings on canvass.

As the singer Ravikumar rendered a song in praise of Nalwadi, a painting of the most popular Maharaja of princely Mysore State was drawn with a stroke of brush by artist Madhusudhan, while that of Ambedkar was drawn in the backdrop of a song — Jnana Sheela Swabhimana Nanna Devarendaru Ambedkara…

Vidushi Rekha Subramanya of Shivamogga mesmerised the music connoisseurs with her Pancha Veena recital, along with Bimba Raghavendra, Bharathi Babu, Hamsaveena Suresh and Keerthana, stringing the chord for the composition of last Maharaja of Mysore Jayachamaraja Wadiyar ‘Bhoori Bhagya Lahari’ in Pratapavarali Raga.

Triveni, a dance feature on three dance forms — Odissi, Kuchipudi and Bharatanatyam — by danseuses Sohini Bose, Archana Punyesh and Dr. Suparna Venkatesh respectively, showcased all the nine forms of Durga.
