MLA demands expedition of Undawadi Drinking Water Project

Mysuru: Urging for speedy implementation of Undawadi Drinking Water Project, Chamundeshwari JD(S) MLA G.T. Devegowda has said that he will discuss the issue of forming an exclusive Board for drinking water in city, with the Chief Minister.

Taking part at a meeting chaired by Deputy Commissioner (DC)  D. Randeep on the implementation of 24×7 drinking water supply to the city, at Vani Vilas Water Works (VVWW) here recently, Devegowda said that with no rainfall for over a month, the district was staring at another drought, with borewells going dry.

Underlining the need for expediting the Hale Undawadi project aimed at supplying drinking water to the city from KRS backwaters, the MLA pointed out that the Undawadi Project coupled with Hongalli, Melapura and Kabini Water Supply Projects, will fully cater to the water needs of the city.

Reiterating that he will take up Undawadi Drinking Water Project issue with Chief Minister when he arrives in the city on July 14, Devegowda regretted the official apathy in enhancing the capacity of Kabini drinking water project.
