November 25, 2024

Mysuru: Chamaraja MLA K. Harishgowda has said that he would urge the Chief Minister to start Government Nature Cure and Yoga Medical College and Hospital, either at all District Headquarters (HQs) or Divisional-level in the State.

He was speaking at the valedictory of Nature Cure Week organised as part of seventh National Nature Cure celebrations, at the Government Nature Cure and Yoga Medical College and Hospital in the city recently.

Harishgowda said “Our ancestors shaped their lifestyle through nature cure. It is only in Mysuru across the State, Government Nature Cure and Yoga Medical College and Hospital is functioning, prompting the students from different parts of the State to study here only. If similar initiatives are taken up at all the District Headquarters or Divisional-level, it would be beneficial for students of respective region.”

Those who pursued education at this College have either secured Government job or have settled abroad, said MLA Harishgowda.

The institute was started in the year 2006 with four students, the number of whom has touched 50 in the present year. Wish that their numbers increase in the coming days, he said.

The new building of Boys Hostel of the College was inaugurated by the MLA on the occasion.

Assistant Director of State Ayurveda Research Centre, Mysuru, Dr. Lakshminarayan Shenoy, Principal of Government Nature Cure and Yoga Medical College and Hospital Dr. K.S. Radhakrishna Ramarao, Engineer C. Puttaswamy and Jagadish were present at the event.
