Union Ministers Dharmendra Pradhan and Bhupendra Yadav to inaugurate workshop on Jan. 4
Mysore/Mysuru: In an effort to take forward the concept of ‘Strong India’, K.R. MLA S.A. Ramdas held a meeting with MCC officials at the MCC auditorium on Monday.
Addressing the meeting, Ramdas said that he has discussed several development issues, including introduction of rural specific MNREGA Scheme in urban areas as well, with Union Human Resources Minister Dharmendra Pradhan and Union Labour Minister Bhupendra Yadav.
Pointing out that the Labour Minister has written him a letter on introducing MNREGA in urban areas on a pilot basis for 6 months, Ramdas said that a 5-day workshop will be held from Jan.4 in four MCC wards of the Constituency, during which skill development programmes, job opportunities and other issues concerning ‘Strong India’ concept will be discussed in depth.
Stating that the two Union Ministers will arrive in the city on Jan. 4 for the inauguration of the workshop, Ramdas sought the co-operation of the MCC in making the workshop a big success.
The MLA further said that students of eighth standard and above who are interested in taking part in skill development programmes at the workshop, can register.
Mayor Sunanda Palanetra, Corporators Shivakumar and Manjunath, MCC Commissioner G. Lakshmikantha Reddy, MCC Deputy Commissioner Roopa and others were present at the meeting.
