MLA takes out padayatra to address residents’ grievances

September 6, 2024

Mysuru: Chamaraja MLA K. Harishgowda conducted a padayatra in Mahadeshwara Layout of his Constituency, engaging with residents and addressing their concerns.

The MLA commenced his padayatra from Chamundeshwari Temple near Triveni Circle, accompanied by officials. He traversed Cross Nos. 1 to 12, attentively listening to the grievances of the residents.

The residents expressed concerns about unhygienic conditions, demanded a proper drainage system, and requested the replacement of old and weak electric poles. They also sought the MLA’s assistance in obtaining Khata for their houses under the Akrama-Sakrama scheme.

The MLA assured the residents that he would revisit them after resolving their problems.

Following the padayatra, the MLA held a public contact meeting at the Sri Chamundeshwari Temple premises. During the meeting, he acknowledged requests from many residents for housing and promised to initiate action in accordance with the rules.

He also reiterated his commitment to addressing the issue of Khata under the Akrama-Sakrama scheme by bringing it to the Government’s attention. “I will take immediate steps to replace weak electric poles,” he assured.

Harishgowda also highlighted that he had previously undertaken padayatras in Kumbarakoppal and Manchegowdana Koppal, along with officials from the CESC, Revenue, Women, and Social Welfare Departments, as well as party workers.

He noted that some of the residents’ issues were resolved on the spot, while steps have been initiated to address others. He also commended Corporator Shivamadu for his work during his tenure.

Indira Gandhi Block Congress President Manchegowdana Koppal Ravi, along with ward leaders Shivamadu, Suresh, Mahesh, Ramaprasad, and others, accompanied the MLA.
