Mysore/Mysuru: Narasimharaja (NR) MLA Tanveer Sait released Sukhanwaran e Mysore, an Urdu book authored by Moinuddin Pasha at a function organised by Anjuman e Hadeeqathul Adab at Arafath Function Hall on Shivaji Road in city on Saturday.
The function began with reciting verses from the Holy Quran by Noorulla Shariff followed by Naath by Mir Naseer Ali. Mohamed Anees Ghouri welcomed the gathering. Report of Anjuman was presented and the programme was compered by Syed Shafi Ahmed, former President of Anjuman e Hadeeqathul Adab.
Author Moinuddin Pasha spoke about the 6th book written by him. Syed Malik Ur Rahman, senior Urdu Poet Rahi Fidai and Sajjad Ahmed spoke about the book and its author.
Speaking on the occasion, MLA Tanveer Sait said that Mysuru has always been a hub of literary activities and tourist centre. Urdu is our mother-tongue and we should work for the development of Urdu language and requested author Moinuddin Pasha to write about Urdu Educational institutions and encourage youths to educate them as education is the only solution for all problems.
Former HoD of Urdu, University of Mysore, Prof. S. Masood Siraj in his presidential address said that we should not forget the services rendered by our elders and added that women can play a vital role in educating our children and safeguard the Urdu language.
He lauded the efforts of Moinuddin Pasha in writing 6 books. Dr. Mohamed Salahuddin,
President, Anjuman e Hadeeqathul Adab and Tiptur Shafi also spoke on the occasion.
City’s artist Abbas Shariff presented the portrait of the author painted by him. Dr. K. Javeed Nayeem, well-known Physician and Star of Mysore columnist felicitated the 82-year-old artist Abbas Shariff.
Corporator Basheer Ahmed, Directors of Muslim Co-operative Bank Ltd. Dr. Suraiyya Tarannum and Md Abdus Salam, President of Faizan E Urdu Adab Momina Mukhtar and other eminent personalities were present on the occasion.
Later, an Urdu Mushaira was held in which famous poets of city presented their poems. Ameer Ahmed Amir compered the Urdu Mushaira. A large number of people including women attended the programme.
