MLC opposes relocation of Government Colleges

Mysore/Mysuru: JD(S) MLC Marithibbegowda has urged the Government to cancel the order on shifting  of Government First Grade Colleges at Terakanambi in Gundlupet taluk of Chamarajanagar District and Hallimysuru (H.N. Pura taluk), Hethur (Sakaleshpur taluk) and Arehalli (Belur taluk) Colleges in Hassan, all coming under his Constituency limits.

In a letter to Deputy Chief Minister Dr. C.N. Ashwathnarayan, who is also the Higher Education Minister, Marithibbegowda, who represents South Teachers Constituency, said that the Government has passed an order on May 18, 2020, relocating 6 Government First Grade Colleges which have less than 100 students. Pointing out that four of them are situated in his Constituency, he said that barring the College at Arehalli, three others have new buildings. All these Colleges are imparting education to poor students, he said and urged the Minister not to relocate them elsewhere in the interests of the students.
