MLC urges for immediate release of salaries to Engineering Colleges staff

Mysore/Mysuru: Maintaining that the staff of private and aided Engineering Colleges are not paid salaries for the past three months, JD(S) MLC Marithibbegowda has urged Dy.CM Dr. C.N. Ashwathnarayan, who is also the Higher Education Minister, to take measures for immediate release of pending salaries.

In a press release, Marithibbegowda, who represents South Teachers Constituency in Legislative Council, said that the staff of Engineering Colleges are facing a lot of hardship due to non payment of salaries.

Pointing out that the problem has been persistent for the past ten years, he regretted that the Governments had failed in timely release of salaries for both the teaching and non-teaching staff, which was posing a lot of problems for the staff.

Accusing officials of apathy, he urged the Higher Education Minister to immediately take steps to release pending salaries at the earliest and thus come to their rescue during these trying times of COVID-19 pandemic.
