Mobile phone snatched in city

Mysore/Mysuru: Bike borne miscreants have snatched a mobile phone of a youth, who was on his daily walk on the Outer Ring Road near Shaktinagar yesterday morning.

At about 6.30 am yesterday, the youth, who was holding his mobile phone in his hand, was walking on the Ring Road, when two miscreants, who came on a white coloured TVS Apache bike, approached him in the guise of speaking to him and managed to snatch his mobile phone worth about Rs. 17,000  and sped away.

Based on the complaint from the youth, Udayagiri Police, who have registered a case, have collected CCTV footages of cameras installed in the vicinity of the crime spot and are examining it.

City Police Commissioner Dr. Chandragupta, who has taken the incident seriously, has formed a special Police team to nab the mobile phone snatchers besides increasing the frequency of beat Police in the vicinity of crime spot and other areas.

It is learnt that, as PM Modi is scheduled to arrive in city on June 20 to participate in the mass yoga demonstration at Mysore Palace on June 21, City Police are making all efforts to prevent crimes from taking place.
