Mobile phone snatchers arrested

Eight mobile phones worth about Rs. 1.12 lakh, one two-wheeler seized

Mysuru: Nazarbad Police, on July 12, have arrested three mobile phone snatchers during the operation on Vinaya Marga in Siddarthanagar here and have seized a TVS Apache bike and a Micromax mobile phone from them. The arrested have been identified as Rehman Shariff and Naveed Pasha of Ghousianagar and Naushad of Udayagiri.

During interrogation, the accused are said to have confessed of snatching mobile phones from the public who used to walk by taking on the phone in Nazarbad, Udayagiri, Alanahalli, Narasimharaja and Krishnaraja Police limits. Based on the information, the Cops have recovered eight mobile phones of various companies and the bike used for the crime.

Nazarbad Inspector M.L. Shekar, SI Yallalingappa, ASI Poonacha and staff H.V. Madhukesh, B.V. Prakash, P. Chethan, V. Srinivas and H.S. Chethan in the nabbing and seizing operation.

Railway Police arrest one person: Mysuru Railway Police, have arrested one person who was attempting to sell stolen mobile phones in the Railway Station premises and have seized 20 mobile phones worth about Rs. 1.36 lakh from him. The arrested person has been identified as 25-year-old Manju, a resident of Lanke village in H.D. Kote taluk.

During interrogation, the accused is said to have confessed of stealing mobile phones from commuters travelling in trains from Mysuru to Chamarajanagar, Hassan and Bengaluru.

A case has been registered at Mysuru Railway Police Station.
