Nine mobile phones, scooter worth about Rs.1.55 lakh recovered

Mysuru: Saraswathipuram Police on July 22 have arrested two persons on charges of stealing mobile phones and have recovered nine mobile and a scooter from them.

The accused are 19-year-old Mani alias Manikanta of Bommanahalli in Bengaluru and 19-year-old Puneeth of Bandipalya in Mysuru. 

Saraswathipuram Police, who were on their regular beat on Monday, saw three persons riding triples on a Honda Dio scooter and stopped them during which one of them fled from the spot. The Police, who nabbed the other two, inspected the scooter and found nine mobile phones kept in the scooter.

During interrogation, the accused are said to have confessed of lifting the scooter and also the mobile phones from women in crowded places following which the Police recovered nine mobile phones and the scooter, all worth about Rs.1.55 lakh from them.

Saraswathipuram Inspector D.P. Dhanaraj, SI Anil Kumar and staff Bhavya, Suresh Babu, Basavaraje Urs, Mahadev, Manjunatha Harish and R.N. Nagesh took part in the nabbing and recovery operation.
