Model Code of Conduct comes into force in Mysuru, Chamarajanagar

Mysuru:  With the Election Commission announcing the poll schedule for the Legislative Council polls from Local Authorities’ Constituencies, which also includes elections to two seats from Mysuru-Chamarajanagar, the Model Code of Conduct has come into immediate effect in these two districts.

Mysuru Deputy Commissioner Dr. Bagadi Gautham has, in a press release, said that the term of MLCs S. Nagaraj (Sandesh Nagaraj) and R. Dharmasena, who were elected from  twin-member Mysuru-Chamarajanagar Local Authorities constituency, will come to an end on Jan. 5, 2022.

As such, the Election Commission has announced the poll schedule for 25 seats, including two seats from Mysuru-Chamarajanagar, according to which the elections will be held on Dec.10. Subsequently, the Model Code of Conduct has come into immediate effect in both the districts.

The voting will take place from 8 am till 4 pm on Dec. 10 and the counting of votes will be taken up on Dec. 14 and the results will be announced the same day. The election process will come to an end on Dec. 16, the release said.
