Where does money collected as fines go?

Sir,

Of late, Mysuru City Traffic Police are earning a substantial amount as fines collected from traffic rule violators. As long as we have irresponsible parents and disobedient children, Traffic Police will have their coffers filled with money collected as fines. And probably with so many “operations” by the Traffic Police, the income from the fines levied would have definitely exceeded their budgetary expectations.

Many projects like installation of traffic signal lights at the intersection of Sayyaji Rao Road and Irwin Road, opposite Ayurveda Hospital and at the “T” junction of Gokulam Road and Hunsur Road are examples for issues being postponed owing to lack of funds as per the version given by the authorities concerned.

Since signal lights are not installed at these vantage points, motorists are facing a lot of hardship owing to high density of indisciplined motorists. By installing signal lights, the unruly traffic can be contained to a great extent at these   two junctions.
