Monthly music programme at BVB Mysuru on May 16

Mysore/Mysuru: As part of its monthly music programme, Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan (BVB), Mysuru Kendra, has organised a Violin Concert by Vid. Sumanth Manjunath and Vidu. Malavi Manjunath, at its premises in Vijayanagar 1st Stage tomorrow (May 16) at 6 pm.

They will be accompanied by Vid. Adamya Ramanand on violin and Vid. Shamith Gowda on ghata.

Profile: As the children and meritorious disciples of the world-renowned maestro Dr. Mysore Manjunath, this sibling duo — Sumanth Manjunath & Malavi Manjunath — represents the third generation of a musical dynasty.

Nurtured by their grandfather, the veteran Vid. Mahadevappa and guided shaped by the                         legendary Mysore Brothers (Dr. Mysore Manjunath and Mysore Nagaraj), they have emerged as virtuosic torch-bearers of Karnatak classical music, blending technical brilliance with deep emotive expression. This talented sibling duo embodies the perfect blend of tradition, discipline and youthful creativity.

Sumanth Manjunath, a child prodigy who debuted at age eight, has ascended to become one of India’s most prominent young musical ambassadors.

Malavi Manjunath, the young daughter of Dr. Manjunath, is a sensation in her own right — an exceptionally gifted violinist who has captured the attention of critics while still in her school years.

Malavi has created sensation as a highly meritorious young violinist with great acumen and brilliant fingering techniques, carrying forward her family’s illustrious legacy.

When Sumanth and Malavi perform together — often joined by their father in ‘Violin Trio’ concerts — they create a masterclass in musical synergy.
