Moon sighted; Ramzan fasting from today

Mysore/Mysuru: Following sighting of the Moon yesterday, Mysuru District Moon Committee, which held a meeting at the Office of Mysore District Waqf Advisory Committee on New Sayyaji Rao Road, has decided to commence the holy month of Ramzan and fasting from today (Apr. 3).

Due to cloudy weather, Moon was not sighted in the State and as Moon was sighted in Chennai, Hyderabad, Lucknow and other parts of the country and after consultation with Central Moon Committee in Bengaluru, Mysuru District Moon Committee decided to start Ramzan fasting.

Hazrath Moulana Mohamed Zakaulla Siddiqi, President of All India Milli Council’s Mysuru District Unit read the ressolution and Sir Khazi of Mysuru Hazrath Moulana Mohamed Usman Shariff  declared the commencement of the holy month.

Hazrath Moulana Mufti Syed Tajuddin, Hazrath Moulana Maqbool Ahmed Nizami, Moulana Sha Vali ulla Umri, Mysuru District Wakf Chairman Akram, Mohamed Abdul Salam, Mohamed Mumtaz Ahmed, former Corporator Suhail Baig & Waqf Officer Mushtaq Ahmed were present.
