Mysuru – Vidu. Renuka Nakoda of Dharwad will present music concert at the moonlight music programme organised at Suttur Mutt, Mysuru at 6 pm on Apr. 11. Suttur Mutt seer Sri Shivarathri Deshikendra Swamiji will grace the occasion.
Born in a family of musicians, Renuka learnt her early lessons in music from her parents. After marrying tabla exponent Pt. Raghunath Nakoda, she learnt advanced music lessons from Pt. Arjun Sa Nakoda. She is regarded as the first woman musician to be accorded top grade artiste in Sugama Sangeetha by Akshavani, Dharwad.
Among the many awards and prizes she has own include Swara Damini, Puttaraja Krupabhushana, Gayana Kusuma, Ganashri and Sangeethashri.
She will be accompanied by Pt. Veerabhadraiah Hiremath on harmonium and Pt. Raghunath Nakoda on the tabla.
