Mysuru: Pt. Nagaraj Rao Havaldar will present a moonlight music concert at Suttur Mutt at the foot of Chamundi Hill at 6 pm on Feb.19.
Pt. Nagaraj Rao Havaldar is among the top Hindustani musicians of the State.
After learning his early music lessons at Pandit Madhav Gudi’s Gharana, Havaldar trained at Jaipur Atrauli Gharana.
A ‘Sangeetha Ratna’ awardee of Karnatak University, he has served as Programme Manager at Sangeetha Bhandara in Hubballi and at Akashavani, Bengaluru.
He has three musical works to his credit, including ‘Badalaguttiruva Kalaghattadalli Shastriya Sangeetha (Classical Music in Changing Times).’
He has performed in musical concerts worldwide. He has also served as a Visiting Professor of Music at a College in Chicago, USA. He is the Founder-President of Sunaada Art Foundation, Bengaluru.
