Mysuru:  Vidushi Pushpa Kashinath will present a veena concert at the monthly moonlight music programme-203 to take place at Suttur Mutt in city at 6 pm on Aug. 26.

One of the top veena artistes of the State, Vidu. Pushpa Kashinath was born in a family of musicians. She learnt her early music lessons from her mother Vidu. Saraswathi. She later trained under renowned musicians such as T. Sharada, Anur S. Ramakrishna and M.S. Sheela.

A post-graduate in Kannada, she is an A grade artiste at Bengaluru Akashavani and Doordarshan. Among the many awards and prizes she has won include Swarashri award of Bengaluru Basava Samithi and Ananya Yuva Puraskar of a Bengaluru- based music foundation.

Pushpa Kashinath will be accompanied by Vid. A. Radhesh on mridanga and Vid. S. Manjunath on ghata.
