Mother flees after handing over baby to co-passenger

Mysore/Mysuru: An incident of a woman handing over her nine-month-old baby boy to a passenger waiting for a Mysuru-bound bus at Raichur Bus Stand and fleeing from the spot has been reported at Lashkar Police Station in Mysuru.

Details: One Raghu, a resident of H.D. Kote in Mysuru, had gone to Raichur on some personal work. After finishing his work, Raghu came to Raichur Bus Stand and was waiting for the bus to Mysuru, when a middle aged woman requested Raghu to hold the baby telling him that she would return in a few minutes. As the woman did not return even after three hours, Raghu boarded the bus to Mysuru and brought the baby along with him. He later went to Lashkar Police Station, explained about the incident that took place at Raichur Bus Stand and handed over the baby boy to the Police.

Lashkar Police then contacted Raichur Police and sought their help to trace the baby’s mother. As the baby boy’s mother could not be traced, Lashkar Police, who were taking care of the baby boy, has handed over the baby to the Balamandira.
