MoU to bridge gap between Industry and Institution

Mysuru: A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was formally signed between GSSS Institute of Engineering and Technology for Women (GSSSIETW), Mysuru and Shan Mushrooms, Mysuru, to bridge the gap between Industry and Institution on July 1 at GSSSIETW. 

Shan Mushrooms has been shortlisted as a winner under the Scheme Unnati by the Department of Social Welfare, Government of Karnataka and has received a grant of Rs. 10 lakh for setting up smart factory for growing mushrooms. 

The MoU is intended for technical co-operation in the areas of Internet of Things (IoT) and Artificial Intelligence (AI) between the Shan Mushrooms and the Department of ECE. They shall work together to build a smart system using IoT for managing and controlling mushroom factory. Students will work as a team to build products like IOT OS, drip irrigation system, temperature and humidity controller and solar grid system for mushroom factory. 

On completion of the project, students will be taken on industrial visit to get a real time experience of the project implementation. Dr. S. Padmashree, Professor, Department of Electronics and Communication, coordinated the MoU.
