An elderly Moulvi, who had sustained serious injuries in a road mishap, breathed his last at a city hospital yesterday evening.
The deceased Moulvi has been identified as Pyara Jan (75), a resident of Rajivnagar in city.
Pyara Jan was crossing the Mysuru-Bengaluru Road near Columbia Asia Hospital, when a speeding motor cyclist travelling towards Bengaluru, knocked him down on the evening of Feb.13.
Pyara Jan who sustained serious head injuries was rushed to St. Joseph’s Hospital in Bannimantap, where he succumbed yesterday evening.
He leaves behind his wife, five sons, five daughters, grand children and a host of relatives and friends.
Namaze-e Janaza will be held this evening at 6.30 pm at Masjid-e-Aqsa Ahle Sunnath Jamath followed by the burial at the Muslim burial grounds, Tippu Circle.
NR Police who have registered a case, arrested bike rider Rajesh and seized the bike.
