Movie screening, Music & Dance at Mysuru Winter Festival

Hindi movie ‘Airlift’ being screened at Maharaja’s College Grounds last night as part of Mysuru Winter Festival’s Open Air Movie Screening organised by Tourism Department. Today Kannada movie ‘Kirik Party’ will be screened at the venue.

Mysuru: The 5th day of cultural programmes organised as part of the Mysuru Winter Festival at Palace premises last evening saw Puttur Narasimha Nayak and K.S. Surekha rendering an array of Bhavageethe, Vachana, Dasarapada and folk songs to the delight of the visitors to Palace.

Nagari Manjunath and troupe presenting Nagari Kunita last evening at Food and Cake Festival organised by Department of Food and Civil Supplies at Nanjaraja Bahadur Choultry. Today, Kamsale Dance will be presented from 5.30 pm to 6.30 pm and Folk Songs from 6.30 pm to 10.30 pm.

Surekha rendered Kuvempu’s song ‘Ilidu Baa Thaye  Ilidu Baa’ followed by Narasimha Nayak rendering ‘Jaya Jaya Mooshika Namana’, ‘Sanjeya Raagake Bhanu Kemperide’, ‘Yellara Gandara Shrungarada Pariyalla’ and many more melodious tunes.

The humorous rendition of the song ‘Baare Rajakumari Naavu Hogana Jumboo Savari Namma Haley Scooteranneri’ by Narasimha Nayak and Surekha was well-applauded by the gathering relishing the plain humour in real life.
