MP calls upon students to have innovative mindset

Mysuru: The co-curricular activities for the year 2017-18 of Vidyavardhaka First Grade College (FGC) was inaugurated by Mysuru-Kodagu MP Pratap Simha at a function held at the college premises  here recently.

In his inaugural address, Pratap Simha said that education should never become a preparation for the job market but should be a process of gaining knowledge and called upon the students to have innovative mindset and to ignite the energy within them.

He also spoke about the life and achievements of Steve Jobs and opined that the duration or life span is not important but the achievements in life matters. He also took instance of Tony Morrison’s Nobel Acceptance speech to remind that future depends on one’s own effort.

Journalist Rajashekar Koti, who was the chief guest, also spoke. P. Vishwanath, Hon.Secretary, V.V.Sangha, presided.

Dr. S. Marigowda, Principal, VVFGC, delivered the keynote address. S.N. Lakshminarayana, Hon. Treasurer, V.V. Sangha, Staff Advisor R. Aravind, Assistant Professor, VVFGC and others were present.
