MP Yaduveer launches Next-Generation AI-Enabled HD IVUS technology at avant bkg hospitals

Mysuru: Strengthening Mysuru’s capabilities in advanced cardiac care, avant bkg hospitals yesterday launched Next-Generation AI-Enabled High-Definition Intravascular Ultrasound (IVUS) technology and announced plans to introduce Minimal Invasive Cardiac Surgery Services (MICS), further expanding the range of advanced cardiac treatment options available to patients in Mysuru and surrounding regions.

The technology was launched by Mysuru-Kodagu MP Yaduveer Krishnadatta Chamaraja Wadiyar in the presence of Dr. T.N. Balakrishna Gowda, Chief Orthopaedic Robotic Surgeon and Managing Director, Dr. J. Rajagopal, Director, Department of Cardiology and Chief Interventional Cardiologist, Dr. S.C. Madhuprakash, Director, Department of Cardiothoracic and Vascular Surgery (CTVS) and Senior CTVS Surgeon at the hospital premises in city.

Highlighting the importance of advanced healthcare in Mysuru, Yaduveer Wadiyar said, “The development of advanced healthcare facilities in Mysuru is an important step towards improving access to specialised treatment for people across the region. The introduction of technologies such as IVUS, alongside the development of minimally invasive cardiac services enables patients from city and surrounding districts to access advanced heart treatments closer to home, without having to travel to larger metropolitan centres for many complex procedures.”

Dr. Balakrishna Gowda said, “Our vision has always been to strengthen Mysuru as a destination for advanced medical care. Along with investing in modern technologies such as IVUS, our plans to introduce MICS reflect our commitment to expanding treatment options for eligible patients. By bringing together specialised clinical expertise, modern infrastructure and comprehensive care, we aim to make advanced healthcare more accessible to people in Mysuru and neighbouring districts.”

Dr. Rajagopal, who also spoke said, “In interventional cardiology, precision is critical, particularly when treating complex coronary artery disease. IVUS gives us a detailed view from inside the blood vessel, assess the vessel’s internal dimensions, plaque characteristics and the position and expansion of stents and guide stent placement more accurately. This technology strengthens our ability to plan and perform complex angioplasties with greater confidence.”

Dr. Madhuprakash said, “Comprehensive cardiac care means offering patients the right treatment based on their individual condition — whether that involves a catheter-based intervention, valve repair or replacement, bypass surgery or another specialised surgical approach. The planned introduction of MICS will further expand the options we can consider for appropriately selected patients, with the aim of reducing surgical trauma where clinically suitable.”
