Mysuru, June 3 (BS)- Mysuru-Kodagu MP Yaduveer Krishnadatta Chamaraja Wadiyar called on Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw in New Delhi recently and urged the latter to grant administrative and financial approvals for the proposals related to long pending upgradation of Mysuru Railway Station and third entry gate works, besides exploring the possibilities of extending Chennai-Mysuru high-speed train (Bullet Train).

In his memorandum to the Minister, Yaduveer has explained that, there is a need to strengthen basic infrastructural facilities related to Railways, in proportionate with the spurt in passenger density, that has fuelled the growth of Karnataka as not just the prominent centres of culture, education and tourist, but also the economy hub.

Reminding the Minister of his earlier instructions, following which, he has achieved a coordination with the architects and Railway officers about the Railway Station upgradation works and third entry gate related works, Yaduveer said, the procedures related to project design have been completed. The administrative and financial approvals should be granted to start the works at the earliest, he added.
He also appealed to the Minister to consider the extension of Mysuru-Chennai high speed train under Future Plans, besides including Mysuru in any long-term projects. The very plan, apart from strengthening the financial prospects between both the States, boosts tourism, business and investment opportunities.

The speedy and environmental-friendly transport system will be created, creating employment opportunities, a conducive atmosphere for the industrial and education-related environment.
Both the aforementioned projects will give a fillip to the economic progress of Mysuru region and betterment of travel experience, significantly contributing to the world-class basic infrastructural facilities related to transport, opined Yaduveer.
