MPVL receives order for 1.32 lakh indelible ink vials for Assembly polls

Mysuru: The State-run Mysore Paints and Varnish Limited (MPVL) has received an order to supply 1.32 lakh vials of indelible ink for the forthcoming Assembly polls. No orders have been received to supply indelible ink marker-pens which was earlier supplied to the State Election Commission for the elections of some Co-operative Societies.

Disclosing this at a press conference here yesterday, MPVL  Chairman H.A. Venkatesh said that the company has also received orders for 20,000 packets of sealing wax for the elections and added that Rs.2.06 crore business was expected through these orders. He also said, the company is expecting an order from the Election Commission of Malaysia to supply one lakh 60ml vials of indelible ink, which is estimated to cost Rs.8 crore.

He said that though the time limit to supply the products has not been fixed, the employees have been asked to be ready to manufacture and store the products in a month’s time and added that a 10ml indelible ink vial can be used to ink 700 fingers.

Stating that the company was ready to supply indelible ink marker pens, he said that orders have been received only to supply indelible ink vials from the Election Commission. He said the company had set Rs.12 crore as revenue target and got Rs.10.69 crore in 2017-18.

Stating that the company, for the first time, had supplied 1,000 specially designed ballot marking pens to the Presidential polls last year, Venkatesh said that 389 specially designed ballot marking pens had been supplied to the Legislative Council elections in Andhra Pradesh, Goa, Uttar Pradesh and West Bengal.
