Mysuru: “Social networking sites like facebook, Twitter and too much indulgence in WhatsApp have reduced human bondage thus making youth as a humanoid,” regretted Dr.M.N. Nandish, Assistant Professor, JSS Degree College.
He was speaking on ‘Effective Use of Youth Power’ at the seminar organised as part of Kannada Sahitya Sammelana at Maharaja’s College Centenary Hall here yesterday.
Dr. Nandish pointed out that the youth should utilise technology for progress of the country. He asked the youth to be aware of the culture and literature of the homeland instead of wasting a lot of time on social media.
Presiding over the programme writer Dr.D.K. Chittaiah Pujara opined that the youth should develop a flair towards Kannada literature and added that they should comprehend the contemporary social problems plaguing the country.
Speaking on ‘My Vote-My Principle,’ Writer Dr. Dhammur Mallikarjun opined that indiscriminate indulgence in religion was eating into humility and human values.
Speaking on ‘My Study-My Language,’ Misba Meharin, a 9th standard student of BET High School, Bengaluru said that education would develop personality and shape one’s future. She added that everyone should read books which provides motivation for life. Writer Dr.M.N. Raghu, spoke on ‘Youth Literature’ and poetess Rohini Yadavada spoke on poetry and life.
