Mysore/Mysuru: In a move aimed at honouring exceptional achievers, Mysuru Urban Development Authority (MUDA) has decided to allot 15 percent of available stray sites to deserving achievers from various fields, through a lottery system.
This decision was taken at the meeting of sub-committee on stray sites held on Wednesday last at the MUDA Office, which was chaired by MUDA Chairman H.V. Rajeev.
At present, the MUDA has a total of 1,255 stray sites of different dimensions (20’x30’, 30’x40’, 40×60’, 50’x80’) in localities such as Lalithadrinagar, Devanur, Vasanthnagar, Dattagalli and Lal Bahadur Shastri Nagar. Out of this, MUDA has planned to allot about 15 percent (180 sites) sites to distinguished achievers in the fields of Arts, Literature, Social Service, Sports, Music etc., who have won State, National and International awards and also to deserving ex-servicemen. The meeting also gave nod for calling applications for allotment of 180 stray sites. MLAs Tanveer Sait and L. Nagendra, MUDA Commissioner G.T. Dinesh Kumar, Secretary Venkataraju and others were present.
