‘Mukhyamantri’ set to enter Guinness Record with staging of 736th show

Mysore/Mysuru: The 736th show of ‘Mukhyamantri,’ a political satire drama in Kannada, with ‘Mukhyamantri’ Chandru in lead role, will be staged at Kalamandira in city on Apr. 18 at 6.30 pm.

With this, all documents related to the play will be sent to the Guinness Book of World Records, as the lead role is being played by the same person for the last 41 years, and the drama is staged by amateur troupe, said Dr. Y.D. Rajanna, President, District Kannada Sahitya Parishat, at a press conference at Pathrakartara Bhavan recently. 

He said on this occasion, ‘Mukhyamantri’ Chandru and drama director B.V. Rajaram will be felicitated by Hunsur MLA H.P. Manjunath on the occasion. 

Opposition Leader and former CM  Siddharamaiah will inaugurate the function.

The entry to Kalamandira will be through free pass which will be distributed to interested citizens. In view of COVID-19 guidelines,  only 500 persons will be allowed inside the auditorium. In case of more number, LED screens will be arranged outside for the sake of theatre-lovers.

On the same day, there will be a six minute video presentation on Dr. B.R. Ambedkar called ‘Ivare Mahanayaka’ by District Officer, Department of Backward Classes Welfare. For press passes, contact Mob: 99869-33109 or 99003-77378.
