Mysuru: The Yelwal Police have arrested an accused who had allegedly murdered a person in front of a liquor shop in Gungralchatra some time ago. The accused is Shivakumar, 25, a resident of Dadadakahalli. He had murdered labourer Ranganayaka (50) about a week ago.

Shivakumar who was lying in a drunken stupor had slept in front of the liquor shop. Since he felt like consuming some more alcohol, he tried to break into the shop.

At this time Ranganayaka who was sleeping next to him tried to stop him. Enraged Shivakumar tied a tower around Rangayanaka’s neck and strangled him to death. A complaint has been registered at Yelwal Police Station. The Police arrested Shivakumar at Mysuru Railway Station and further investigations are on.
