Vidu. Suchitra Holla will present a vocal recital at Ganabharathi’s Veene Seshanna Bhavana, Kuvempunagar, on Saturday 14th July at 6 pm. She will be accompanied by Vid. C.N. Thyagarajan on violin, Vid. B. S. Anand on mridanga and Vid. Vikram Bharadwaj on ghata. The concert is open to all.
Profile: Vidu. Suchitra Holla, hailing from Ujire of Belthangadi taluk, is the daughter of Mookambika Holla and reputed Yakshagana Bhagavathar Srinivasa Holla. Initiated into music by her father very early in childhood, Suchitra obtained higher training from Karnataka Kalashree Vidu. Neela Ramagopal, Vid. Kudmar Venkataramana, Vidu. Shyamala Nagaraj and Vidu. G.S. Kamala of Mysuru.
She has obtained third rank in Senior music and first rank in Vidwat and first rank in M Music from KSOU. In addition she also holds L L B, M com, and M B A degrees.
Graded B High artiste of AIR Mangalore, Suchitra has given more than five hundred performances all over the State. After serving as a music teacher at Sandesha Lalithakala Mahavidyalaya, Mangalore and Government Pre degree college, she is presently training many students in her own Sadhana Sangeetha Vidyalaya at Puttur.
