Music concert at Nadabrahma Sangeetha Sabha on July 26

Mysore/Mysuru: Sri Thyagaraja Sangeetha Sabha Charitable Trust has organised a classical vocal concert by Vid. Pattabhirama Pandit at Sangeeta Kalanidhi Mysore Vasudevacharya Bhavana, Sri Nadabrahma Sangeetha Sabha, on JLB Road in city on July 26 at 6 pm, in memory of Y.N. Ananth, an ardent student and rasika of music. He will be accompanied by Vid. H.N. Bhaskar on violin, Vid. K.U. Jayachandra Rao on mridanga and Vid. Omkar G. Rao on ghata.

Artiste profile

Pattabhirama Pandit, hailing from a family of musicians, was initially trained in music by his mother and subsequently by Vidu. Vallabham Kalyana Sundaram and Sangita Kalanidhi S. Ramanathan. Later he was under the tutelage of the versatile guru, Sangeetha Kalanidhi Palghat K.V. Narayanaswamy and Vidu. Padma Narayanaswamy. He is one of the most promising vocalist of the present generation. His performance marked with adherence to sampradaya, bani and soulful singing with an eloquent voice, builds instant rapport with the audience.

Vid. H.N. Bhaskar, a brilliant mesmerising violinist, was initially trained by his father H.K. Narasimhamurthy and later under Sangeetha Kalanidhi                              M.S. Gopalakrishnan.

Vid. K.U. Jayachandra Rao, known for his exemplary percussion skills, is the disciple of Vidwans E.P. Narayana Pisharadi and T.R. Rajamani, son of Palghat Mani Iyer.

Vid. Omkar G. Rao, one of the finest ghata artistes known for tonal quality, is trained under Vid. V.R. Chandrashekar and Vid. T.A.S. Mani.
