Mysuru: Ganabharathi has organised a music concert by Vidushi Dr. R.N. Srilatha on Sept.19 at 6 pm at Veene Seshanna Bhavan in Kuvempunagar.
She will be accompanied by Vidushi Veena Suresh on violin, Vidwan G.S. Ramanujan on mridanga and Vidwan V.S. Ramesh on ghata.

Dr. R.N. Srilatha hails from a family of musicians of Rudrapatnam. She started her training under her father and guru, Vidwan R.K. Narayana Swamy, who is a direct disciple of Musiri Subramanya Iyer. Later, she had the guidance of her elder brother R.N. Thyagarajan, the elder of famous Rudrapatnam Brothers.
In addition to classical South Indian music, Srilatha has a wide repertoire in semi-classical North Indian music, bhajans, abhangas, devaranamas, slokas and vachanas. With her rich experience, she gives full-fledged concerts singing either only Devaranamas or Vachanas.
She is an ‘A Top Grade’ artiste of All India Radio and Doordarshan. She holds a Doctorate degree in Music for her thesis ‘Aspects of Manodharma in Karnatak Music.’
Veena Suresh had her initial tutoring from Vidushi M.S. Jayamma, then under the renowned violinist Anoor S. Ramakrishna. Subsequently, she was mentored and moulded by Vidwan H.K. Narasimhamurthy and later she was guided by Padma Bhushan Prof. T.N. Krishnan.
G.S. Ramanujan, a senior student of P.G. Laxminarayan (PGL), is a renowned mridanga player. He has lent laya support to many senior and distinguished artistes. He is equally at ease in ghata.
V.S. Ramesh is also a student of PGL. He has lent laya support to several senior musicians both on mridanga and morching.
